Cold Market Prospecting

The Sorting Process in a nutshell

We are in the SORTING business, not the convincing business. The ideal sponsoring system is High-Tech & High-Touch. This means that you leverage 24/7 technology to find “suspects” and provide them with information about the opportunity. You then allow website visitors to sort themselves into the “interested” or “not interested” pile.

The next step is to follow up by phone to conduct an interview (see script suggestions) to establish their personal goals and level of interest in our opportunity. You will cultivate a telephone relationship with the prospect using your own personality and sharing your own personal reasons for getting into the business.

Once they have expressed a sincere desire to learn more, you will get their postal address and Priority Mail ($4.05) them a copy of Success from Home magazine. Ask them to confirm receipt via email and set an appointment to call again when they have read the magazine.

Get your sponsor on a 3-way call to answer their questions and to close the enrollment.

Setting up your Tools

Open a unique email address at Gmail.com for this task. (Contact your sponsor who will send you a gmail invitation.) An example address would be JobPosting99@gmail.com

Invest $13 (10 euros) and open a virtual local Skype-In phone number and voicemail for three months at Skype-In. You will place this number in your ads as an alternative form of contact.

SkypeOut Skype Out is also a great system for making unlimited US outbound calls (free until 12/31/06, then $15 a year) using your computer and a headset. Bonus - it’s really easy to cut and paste numbers from your contact list into the dialer. You can also use the Instant Messaging feature to chat online with your sponsor while setting up 3-way calls etc.

Record a personal voice mail greeting on your Skype-In number (like my example at 816-925-0207) that will direct callers to your YTB Business Presentation domain and also to the 5-minute, recorded briefing by Scott Tomer at 405-244-4085 or your 800# (see below). Most callers will not leave a message but Skype will capture their caller ID for callback.

Bookmark PhoneNumber.com/. You will run prospect phone numbers through reverse lookup. Even if you don’t get name and address, you will find out the location of the caller.

Get a toll-free 800# and set the “ring-to” number to 405-244-4085. This will provide a record of who actually made the effort to listen to the call. Each 5-min call will cost you about 30 cents, a small price to pay for a strong lead. I use AmericanFone.com/.
